I bought a 4 pack of these. I've had them for a week now. I hooked one to the side of my computer monitor at work where I hang my telephone headphones. I also hung another on the wall by my desk where I hang my coat and my laptop briefcase. The plastic hook has stayed rigid. I try not to put too much weight on them but I'm a big guy with a heavy winter jacket (yes it's winter in Chicago already) and the hook does fine. I gave the other two to my coworkers (web designers) so that they can conveniently hang their Beats headphones and their telephone headphones. They work well. But read the instructions first! The adhesive tape has two sides. One that you stick to the hook and one that you stick to the wall. I stuck the tape on the wrong side and I didn't make sure it was level. When I pulled it off it damaged the drywall. I guess I should blame myself for not following directions, but the directions should be larger and on a yellow sheet of paper. Anyway, I stuck it back over where the damage was and it sticks just fine. Take your time making it level because the tape really sticks!Simple to attach to a smooth surface, and quite wide.I attached them to a painted wood surface, with no issues, and they hold my Denon AH-D7000's with no issues. The Denons are about average width at the headband peak, but pretty large in the ear cups. The headphone hooks allow for plenty of room at the headband region, with plenty to spare, and also allow the cups to sit at their normal position, so they fit large headphones very well.I also attached two of them to the side of my Sony TV, which is made of some type of plastic, and is quite smooth on the side. I have a turtle beach wireless PX4 headphone on each hook, which is a padded lighter design, but thick in the headband area. They fit with no issues, and the hooks hold onto the TV very nicely. With the PX4's, there is a little less wiggle room for the width, but it is still plenty adequate. Particularly wide headbands might want to consider measuring them first, but they be a pretty uncommon size to cause an issue. No complaints.I would imagine that if you attach them to a wood finish that is more porous, you should expect less bonding, and consider a more permanent solution.I purchased the set of hooks after years of hanging my expensive headsets off the monitor, side of the desk, in the desk drawer, and on the desktop computer. The headsets often ended up on the floor and with cables tangled on my chair, my books, and with other equipment. I purchased and installed two hooks; one on the wall-side of my home office desk to hold large, padded Sennheiser gaming headset and the other on the back of an all-in-one at my work office to hold a more compact Bose, noise-cancelling headset. The hook is large and light-weight enough to hold both headsets comfortably while allowing easy access to my headsets. The small lip at the tip is a perfect size to hold the headset on without getting in the way. The cords stay conveniently out of the way with a simple wrap or two over the clip. Each hook came with a 3M Command strip for application and easy removal when the time comes to move the hook in the future. They are convenient, easy to install, and sturdy. I highly recommend these hooks for a similar use!Don't know what I did before these simple yet elegant little hooks. My desk space is no longer cluttered with my large headphones and the wires that go with them. The Command strips are easy to install and hold really well. I have not tested the load capacity on these hooks - I don't need to because they have been supporting my Sennheiser HD650s just fine since I bought them a few weeks ago. Another hook is at the office supporting my AKG Q701s, and are also holding up just fine. Have had many people ask me where I got these - it's one of those useful things you don't know how much you need until you see it.If the Command strips do wear down, or I simply need new ones, I can always go to a nearby drugstore or hardware store and find them readily available. I have no concerns that this product won't last me a long time. One hiccup in my order was that I bought a 4-pack and opened the package to find only 2. Of course, Amazon's amazing customer service took care of the problem immediately.Bought 8 of these already, have used them on many different surfaces, including a rough aluminium computer chasis for a pair of headphones, which has had a lot of issues with other stickers and vinyls in the past; no problem for these. I've used these for both headphones and controllers, and they are perfect for both. At first I was hesitant to use these for controllers like other claims had said, but after I screwed up one of them, and having to use a pretty good deal of force to remove the adhesive, I was a believer at that point. Currently, 2 of them are used for headphones, and 4 of them are used for controllers. I will be coming right back here when I need more, not if, when.
